StartU

StartU is a movement aimed at energinizing the portuguese web scene. StartU will strive to be a facilitator of:

• Getting started with web projects and startups
• Knowledge sharing
• Ecosystem development, community- and business-wise
• Community and business globalization

As of this writing, the manifestation of the Portuguese web community can be outlined as:

• Individuals and organizations
• Projects
• Events

There is one missing category: successful business cases.

StartU’s ultimate goal is to help the national web industry become healthy, wealthy and remarkable in terms of success, sustainability and innovation. StartU is about empowerment, support and amplification.

Concretely, StartU launches as a series of web resources, an event sponsor and organizer, and an overall agitator. Many folks compose StartU, and it doesn’t really belong to anyone. StartU will also be a resource in English – a window for the world, and not a power-leveraging tool in portuguese.
